Horticulture Award Program (HAP)
The purpose of the Horticultural Award Program (HAP) is to promote the keeping and propagation of aquatic plants, aid in the recognition of the species, encourage research, through the growth and propagation of different species, recognize achievements of individuals through awards, and disseminate information through The Oklahoma Aquarium Association's Forum and through the general meetings. There are eleven (11) classes A-K. Classes "A" to "H and J-K" are determined by biological types, which are artificial keys to groups of aquatic plants. They include a combination of factors that include mode of reproduction, structure and scientific classification.
Members receive a specified number of points and a certificate for each species successfully propagated. Once a class is completed, the member receives a plaque. Achievement titles are awarded based on total points earned, classes completed, number flowerings or species from sexual reproduction, and presentations or articles. OKAA HAP documents:
